Dormeo is a sleep technology brand built around a single engineering idea: that foam structured into individual spring-shaped cells performs better than flat-cut foam. Their Octaspring and Octasmart technologies apply that principle to their mattress toppers and pillows - delivering pressure relief, temperature regulation, and consistent support without the heat retention of standard memory foam. At Land of Beds we stock the full Dormeo bedding range, including award-winning mattress toppers and pillows across soft medium, medium, and firm tensions, with warranties up to 8 years. Free delivery on orders over £100 and expert advice seven days a week.

Dormeo's starting point was a problem with standard memory foam: it contours well, but the dense, flat structure traps heat and limits airflow. Their solution was to replace the flat foam layer with individual spring-shaped foam cells - a structure they call Octaspring. Each cell compresses and rebounds independently, in the same way a pocket spring does, but using foam rather than steel.
The result is a surface that provides the pressure relief and body contouring of memory foam while allowing significantly more air to circulate through the material. Their Octasmart range applies a related principle to a broader range of price points - foam-based technology that improves on standard flat foam in terms of breathability and responsiveness.
The practical outcome for sleepers is a topper or pillow that behaves more like a sprung surface than a block of foam - responsive, breathable, and supportive without the slow-sinking feel that makes standard memory foam uncomfortable for some people. Warranties across the range run from 5 to 8 years on toppers, reflecting genuine confidence in the durability of the foam cell construction. For the full topper range, see our Dormeo mattress toppers page. For pillows, see our Dormeo pillows page.
Dormeo produces two product types at Land of Beds: mattress toppers and pillows. Browse by category below.

Dormeo uses two distinct foam technologies across their bedding range. Understanding the difference helps you choose the right product for your sleep needs.
| Technology | How It Works and Where It Is Used | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Octaspring | Foam structured into individual octagon-shaped spring cells that compress and rebound independently. Used in the Octaspring mattress topper range. | The most advanced airflow and responsiveness in the Dormeo range - a genuinely different feel to flat memory foam. More responsive and significantly cooler than standard foam. |
| Octasmart | Foam technology designed to improve breathability and pressure relief over standard flat memory foam at a more accessible price point. Used in the Octasmart mattress topper range and all Dormeo pillows. | Good pressure relief with improved airflow compared to conventional memory foam. The right starting point for those wanting Dormeo performance at a lower price than the Octaspring range. |
Dormeo bedding is available across three tensions. Here is a plain guide to which suits each sleep position and preference.
| Tension | Feel | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Soft Medium | A cushioned surface with gentle contouring. The softest option in the Dormeo range. | Side sleepers wanting pressure relief at the shoulder and hip, those who find medium too firm |
| Medium | Balanced support and cushioning. The most versatile tension in the range. | Back sleepers, combination sleepers, those wanting an all-round everyday option |
| Firm | Structured support with minimal surface give. | Front sleepers, heavier sleepers, those who prefer a firmer surface that does not compress easily |
Dormeo offers some of the strongest warranties on foam bedding products in the market. Here is a plain summary.
| Product Type | Warranty | What It Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Octaspring mattress toppers | 5 years | Manufacturing defects in materials and construction |
| Octasmart mattress toppers | 8 years | Manufacturing defects in materials and construction |
| Dormeo pillows | 1 year | Manufacturing defects in materials and construction |
The 8-year warranty on the Octasmart topper range is one of the longest available on any foam topper product stocked at Land of Beds. Always check the individual product listing for full warranty terms.

| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What is Octaspring technology? | Octaspring is Dormeo's patented foam cell structure. Instead of a flat layer of memory foam, the material is formed into individual octagon-shaped spring cells that compress and rebound independently - similar in principle to a pocket spring, but using foam. This allows significantly more air to flow through the material compared to flat foam, reducing heat retention while still providing pressure relief and body contouring. |
| What is the difference between Octaspring and Octasmart? | Octaspring uses Dormeo's most advanced spring-cell foam structure - individual foam cells that behave like springs. Octasmart uses Dormeo's foam technology at a more accessible price point, improving on standard flat foam in terms of breathability and responsiveness without the full spring-cell construction of Octaspring. If temperature regulation and responsiveness are the priority, Octaspring is the stronger choice. If value is important alongside improved performance over standard foam, Octasmart is the right starting point. |
| Are Dormeo toppers good for hot sleepers? | Yes, better than standard flat memory foam. Both Octaspring and Octasmart allow more airflow through the foam structure than conventional memory foam, reducing heat build-up at the sleep surface. Octaspring provides the greater airflow improvement of the two. If sleeping warm is your primary concern, the Octaspring toppers are the stronger choice within the Dormeo range. |
| Which Dormeo tension should I choose? | Soft medium suits side sleepers who need pressure relief at the shoulder and hip. Medium suits back sleepers and combination sleepers wanting balanced support. Firm suits front sleepers and heavier sleepers who need more resistance. If you are unsure, our team can advise based on your sleep position and body weight. |
| How long is the warranty on Dormeo mattress toppers? | The Octaspring range carries a 5-year warranty. The Octasmart range carries an 8-year warranty. Both cover manufacturing defects. Dormeo pillows carry a 1-year guarantee. Always check the individual product listing for full warranty terms. |
| Can Dormeo toppers be used on any mattress? | Yes. Dormeo mattress toppers are compatible with all standard mattress types and bases - pocket spring, foam, divan, slatted frame, and solid base. The topper sits on top of the mattress and is not affected by the base below. |
| Do Dormeo toppers have removable covers? | Most do - check the individual product listing for care and washing instructions. Using a mattress protector over the topper from day one significantly reduces how often the cover needs washing. See our mattress protectors. |
| Do you offer free delivery on Dormeo bedding? | Yes, free UK delivery is included on orders over £100. Delivery takes 7 to 14 days across the Dormeo range. Some remote postcodes may incur an additional charge. See our delivery page for full details. |
| Can I buy Dormeo bedding on finance? | Yes. Interest-free finance is available on eligible orders. See our finance page for full details on terms, eligibility, and how to apply. |
