Mattresses you can rely on!

When it comes to mattresses, individual pocket springs are a top choice for optimal postural support. The separate pockets house the springs, which move independently. This allows them to conform to the shape and weight of the body. Pocket-sprung products are particularly suitable for those who tend to move around often during the night. This is because the individual springs can absorb motion without disturbing the rest of the mattress.

At Relyon, they can alter the tension, feel, and weight distribution of a pocket-spring mattress by changing the spring construction, wire thickness, height, and quantity. Higher spring counts usually provide more supportive comfort. They sew the pocket springs into durable calico fabric pockets, hand-nest them, and hand-centre tie them for ultimate support. They thread linen cord through the springs to tie them together and secure the nesting.

Some of their products feature "zoning" to provide targeted support for different body parts and to promote proper spinal alignment and provide comfortable sleep. Firm perimeter support products have stronger springs at the edges, tri-zone body support mattresses have softer zones at the head and foot and firmer zones in the middle. Five-zone pocket spring units have two firmer support zones and three softer zones in between.

Memory foam

Memory foam is a type of material that reacts to body heat, becoming softer and more pliable. This allows the foam to mould to the unique contours of an individual's body, providing excellent pressure-relieving support. The temperature and weight of the body cause the foam to respond and conform, resulting in a body-hugging comfort that can improve blood circulation and alleviate pain.

Memory foam exhibits excellent shape recovery, allowing it to regain its original shape after pressure is removed. This feature ensures that the foam will retain its supportive properties over time and continue to provide the same level of comfort and pressure relief with repeated use. Memory foam is popular for those seeking a supportive, comfortable, and responsive material.

Gel foam

Relyon designs gel foam mattresses to provide a comfortable and cool sleeping experience. These mattresses feature a cool gel memory foam layer, with gel microbeads that help regulate temperature. The three cooling layers of the mattress include the Ice fabric, a cool-to-the-touch fabric technology; the Ecool quilt, a sustainable fibre that wicks away moisture; and the cooling latex layer, which offers pressure relief and breathability. The gel foam mattress regulates temperature throughout the night, making it ideal for those who feel too hot when sleeping. If heat retention concerns you with memory foam mattresses, then consider choosing a gel foam mattress.

Latex mattresses

Rubber trees are the source of latex, which is renowned for its anti-microbial characteristics and long-lasting nature. Latex has a luxurious feel that provides excellent pressure relief. Like memory foam, latex is also temperature and weight responsive, which adjusts to the body's contours and temperature for a comfortable and supportive sleep experience.

One unique feature of latex is its natural bounce and elasticity, making it easier to move around and adjust positions while sleeping. Additionally, because it is a natural material, it may be a preferred choice for those concerned about using synthetic materials in their bedding. Overall, latex is an excellent choice for those seeking a natural, supportive material with a sumptuous feel.

Features of Relyon mattresses

  • Quilted & Tape Edge: they quilt the damask fabric of the mattress for subtle cushioning. Highly trained professionals sew the edges of the mattress using tape edging fabric to seal the top and bottom panels to the borders. These quilted cases keep entry-level products affordable without sacrificing quality.

  • Finishes & Fillings: Hand tufting is a traditional skill that ensures all loose fillings are secured to provide the perfect finish to tufted mattresses. These products use either felt or woollen tufts, with woollen tufts used on higher specification models.

  • Hand Side Stitched: their skilled craftsmen use upholstery needles to hand side stitch mattresses with up to five rows of stitching. This technique provides support to the mattress walls, extending the sleeping area to the edge.
