Questions & Answers

  • Which mattress is right for me?

Just as we are all individual, so too are our sleep needs. Choosing the right one is dependent on many factors & is a personal choice. When deciding, think about your sleeping position, body type, bed sharing, and your tension preference (soft, medium, or firm).

  • How do I choose the best mattress?

Choosing the perfect one is a subjective decision, as there's no universal solution. Fortunately, the wide range of options caters to individual preferences, offering diverse materials, technologies, comfort grades, and sizes.

  • What is the average cost of a mattress in the UK?

The average cost can vary widely, depending on factors such as the type, size, brand, and quality. In the UK, you can find products with prices ranging from around £100 to several thousand pounds.

  • How much should I pay?

Determining the cost of a quality sleep surface depends on factors such as construction and materials. Cheaper ones may seem like a good deal at first, but they might not help you sleep well and could cause more problems in the long run. We recommend spending as much as you can comfortably afford. We offer a range of payment options to help you with your purchase.

  • Is it worth spending money on an expensive mattress?

Expensive ones usually last longer than cheaper ones because they are made with better materials. These materials make the product stronger and able to handle the everyday wear and tear. When the sleeping surface is more durable, you don't have to replace it as often.

  • What type of mattress is best for a bad back?

A wide range of mattresses can relieve back pain and improve spinal alignment, including orthopedic, latex, hybrid, spring-based, and memory foam options. Contrary to popular belief, overly firm mattresses may not support your spine adequately. Those over fourteen stone should opt for firmer mattresses, while those under ten stone with back discomfort should choose softer, supportive ones. Treatment effectiveness varies, so not all back pain sufferers will benefit equally from the same type of product.

  • How often should I replace my mattress?

We advise replacing it every 7-8 years based on guidelines from the National Bed Federation.

  • Can I just replace the mattress, or do I need to buy a new bed frame/base?

Yes, you can as long as the base is the same size and in good condition. Where possible, it's a good idea to buy them together for a better sleep experience. We have a large bed frame collection available.

  • Can I sleep on my new mattress straight away?

Traditional, unrolled options are ready for sleeping on instantly. Rolled products take 2-6 hours to expand. In some cases, it can be 48 hours before they reach their maximum height.
