Worth Knowing
Memory Foam Layer
What it is: A layer of heat-responsive foam that shapes itself to the contours of your body and springs back into shape once pressure is released.
How it helps you: Enhances circulation, equalises pressure to help relieve back problems, and promotes better spinal alignment.
Reflex Foam Base
What it is: A firm, adaptive foam layer beneath the memory foam that conforms to the body's shape.
How it helps you: Provides excellent pressure relief and reduces stress on joints, helping to minimise tossing and turning during the night, with durable, long-lasting support.
Anti-Allergenic Construction
What it is: Foam that is sterilised and dust-free, inhospitable to dust mites.
How it helps you: Helps create a fresher, healthier sleep environment - particularly beneficial for allergy sufferers.
Micro Quilted CoolMax Cover
What it is: A soft, breathable, stretchy knitted top panel finished in moisture-wicking CoolMax fabric.
How it helps you: Keeps the sleeping surface cool and dry throughout the night, with a luxurious feel and extra cushioning from the quilting.
5-Part Adjustable Frame
What it is: A motorised frame divided into five independently moving sections - back, shoulders, neck, calves and feet.
How it helps you: Lets you fine-tune your sleeping or resting position with precision - useful for finding a position that supports specific areas of the back or relieves pressure on the legs.
Wooden Sprung Slat Base
What it is: Wooden slats with a natural spring, used in the base in place of a rigid platform.
How it helps you: Works in conjunction with the mattress to flex where you exert the most pressure, giving a comfortable and supportive feel whether the bed is flat or elevated. This particular base is upholstered in Sierra Charcoal, in a non-storage configuration.
Twin Motor Mechanism
What it is: Two separate motors, allowing the head and foot of the bed to be adjusted independently.
How it helps you: Lets you find your ideal sleeping or resting position, adjusting head and foot at the same time or separately - useful for tailored support or added comfort.
Wired Handset
What it is: A corded remote control that connects to the base and operates the motors.
How it helps you: Provides reliable, straightforward control - always within reach on the bedside, with no batteries required.
Chrome Glides
What it is: Chrome-finished glides fitted to the underside of the base.
How it helps you: Provide smooth mobility and protect your floors, while adding a sleek, modern touch to the bed's design.
Repton Headboard (Bed Fixing on Struts)
What it is: A deep-padded headboard upholstered in Sierra Charcoal to match the base, standing 61cm (24'') high with a depth of 7cm (2.75''). Two struts on the back of the headboard insert into the pre-drilled holes in the base and are secured with bolts.
How it helps you: Finishes the bed with a coordinated look straight out of the box, giving you something to lean against when sitting up, with no separate headboard purchase or fabric-matching needed.

Vs standard divan beds: A standard divan bed sits flat and cannot be adjusted. An adjustable bed allows independent elevation of the head and foot, which is useful for reading, watching TV, managing snoring or acid reflux, or supporting recovery from surgery or illness. Divan beds are typically lower in profile, simpler to dress and cost less. An adjustable bed is the right choice when positioning matters - for health reasons or everyday comfort.
Vs softer adjustable beds: The Ortho Memory sits at the firmer, orthopaedic-focused end of the adjustable range, with a foam-only memory foam and reflex foam construction rather than a pocket-sprung or Pillow Top build. Those who prefer a softer, more cushioned feel or a spring-based construction may suit a softer adjustable bed better.
Vs other adjustable beds in the range: This clearance listing gives access to the genuine Ortho Memory construction, unchanged from the standard range, with the Repton headboard included in the price - a saving versus buying the bed and headboard new.
The Ortho Memory is backed by Adjust-A-Bed's 5-year guarantee, covering the base, mattress and motorised mechanisms against defects in materials and workmanship.
The Ortho Memory combines a firm memory foam and reflex foam mattress with anti-allergenic construction and a 5-part adjustable base - a dependable, orthopaedic-focused choice for front and back sleepers who want firm, supportive positioning. This clearance listing offers the Adjustable Single in Sierra Charcoal, complete with the matching Repton headboard, at a reduced price while stocks last.
