Worth knowing:
Platform Top Base
What it is: A genuine Dunlopillo Essentials base with an FSC certified solid wooden top upholstered in fabric.
How it helps you: The supportive platform top prolongs mattress life and provides a consistent, stable feel across the entire sleeping surface. The base is covered by a full 10-year guarantee.
Storage Options
What it is: Hard-wearing laminate drawers with smooth runners (9kg weight limit per standard drawer), or a Platform Top Ottoman Base using a gas ram mechanism to lift the entire base top for access to a large storage cavity - a king size ottoman offers around 6 times more space than a 2-drawer divan.
How it helps you: Drawers offer easy daily access without lifting the mattress. The Ottoman option suits customers who need maximum storage volume and don't require daily access. Allow clear floor space on the drawer side when ordering a drawer model.
Feet or Castors
What it is: Fixed silver glides attached to the underside of the divan base.
How it helps you: Keeps the bed stable and secure, adding a contemporary, luxury feel without unwanted movement.
The Included Mattress: Dunlopillo Firmrest
What it is: A firm (5/6) hybrid mattress built around Dunlopillo's aerated VENTRA Core Performance System, topped with a layer of natural Talalay Latex and finished with the Dunlopillo® Plus Fabric Cover. Depth is 19.5cm.
How it helps you: The Talalay Latex conforms gently to your body for pressure relief while the VENTRA Core disperses heat for a cool, comfortable night's sleep. Natural latex is hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial and antimicrobial. This is a no-turn mattress - rotate head to toe regularly to extend its lifespan.

Vs bed frames {/beds/bed-frames}: A divan set sits lower to the floor and has a more minimal visible profile than most bed frames. The base is fully upholstered with no exposed legs or joints. The set includes the mattress, whereas bed frame buyers purchase their mattress separately. Bed frames offer more design variety but no integrated base support for the mattress.
Vs other divan sets in this price range: The Firmrest set offers a genuine natural latex and foam hybrid mattress alongside an FSC certified timber base, rather than the pocket-sprung or all-foam constructions typical at this price point. The combination of natural Talalay Latex, a 15-year mattress guarantee and a 10-year base guarantee reflects a step up in materials and after-sales confidence.
Vs premium and luxury divan ranges: This set shares the same genuine Talalay Latex and VENTRA foam technology found in Dunlopillo's higher-priced ranges. The difference is typically in the depth of the comfort layers and the range of base upgrades available, rather than any compromise in base construction or craftsmanship.
The Dunlopillo Firmrest mattress is backed by Dunlopillo's 15-year manufacturer's guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship, with the genuine Dunlopillo Platform Top base covered by a separate 10-year guarantee. Given the quality of the natural Talalay Latex and FSC certified timber base, this is a set built to last - the guarantee reflects that confidence.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing.
Manufacturing Guild Mark - A mark of craftsmanship, quality and durability, showing Dunlopillo's dedication to manufacturing standards.
FSC Certified Timber - Independently certified confirmation that the timber used in the base comes from responsibly managed forests.
The Dunlopillo Firmrest set pairs a genuinely firm, well-supported feel with the natural breathability and hypoallergenic properties of Talalay Latex - all backed by a 15-year mattress guarantee and a 10-year base guarantee. If you're a back or front sleeper, run warm at night, or simply want a complete sleep set that's built to last, this is one to consider.

I had a Dunlopillo King size for 32 Years, the most comfortable bed of all time. So I replaced it for the modern version of the same be. It is even more comfortable of course because it is new. There simply is no better bed and the price from this company could not be beaten. The service and delivery was as smooth as silk. I am delighted and could not recommend the company or the product more. thank you. PG
