Worth knowing:
Genuine Dunlopillo Essentials Platform Top Base
What it is: An FSC-certified solid wooden top upholstered in fabric, forming the genuine Dunlopillo Essentials base. A Platform Top Ottoman version is also available, using a gas ram mechanism to lift the entire base top for storage access.
How it helps you: The Platform Top provides a consistent, supportive feel across the entire mattress surface and helps prolong the mattress's life. The Ottoman option gives significantly more storage than standard drawers - as a guide, a king size ottoman divan base holds around six times more than a 2-drawer divan.
Storage Options
What it is: Storage configurations available: non-storage; 2 drawers (choose left- or right-hand side placement at point of order on a single divan); Platform Top Ottoman lift base.
How it helps you: Drawers are made from hard-wearing laminate with smooth runners and a 9kg per drawer weight limit, giving easy daily access without lifting the mattress. The Ottoman option suits customers who need maximum storage volume and don't require daily access. Allow clear floor space on the drawer side when ordering a drawer model.
The Included Mattress: Dunlopillo Millennium
What it is: A medium (3/6) latex mattress built around Dunlopillo® Talalay Latex over the VENTRA™ Core Performance System, finished with the Dunlopillo® Plus Fabric Cover.
How it helps you: The Talalay Latex layer contours to your body for pressure relief, while the VENTRA™ Core channels air through the mattress to keep you cool. The Plus Fabric Cover maintains the sleep surface around one degree below body temperature. This is a no-turn mattress - rotate head to toe regularly to extend its lifespan.

Vs bed frames: A divan set sits lower to the floor and has a more minimal visible profile than most bed frames, with a fully upholstered base and no exposed legs or joints. The set includes the mattress, whereas bed frame buyers purchase their mattress separately. Bed frames offer more design variety but no integrated base support for the mattress.
Vs other divan sets in this price range: This set sits toward the premium end of the divan market thanks to its natural Talalay Latex mattress and FSC-certified Platform Top base. Where cheaper divan sets often pair a basic foam or open-coil mattress with the base, this set uses a genuine latex comfort layer and a longer combined guarantee.
Vs premium and luxury divan ranges: This set shares the same Platform Top base construction and natural Talalay Latex technology found in higher-priced divan ranges. The difference is typically in the depth of the comfort layers and the range of storage options, rather than any compromise in base quality or craftsmanship.
The Dunlopillo Millennium Divan Bed is backed by a 15-year manufacturer's guarantee on the mattress and a 10-year guarantee on the base, against defects in materials and workmanship. Given the durability of natural Talalay Latex and the FSC-certified Platform Top construction, this is a set built to last, and the guarantee reflects that confidence.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing.
Manufacturing Guild Mark - An independent recognition of quality craftsmanship, awarded to manufacturers who meet rigorous standards of construction and materials.
Zero Waste to Landfill Policy - Dunlopillo's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and fostering a circular economy, so your purchase supports a more sustainable approach to manufacturing.
The Dunlopillo Millennium Divan Bed delivers a genuine sleep system: a supportive FSC-certified Platform Top base matched to a naturally cooling, hypoallergenic latex mattress, backed by a 15-year mattress guarantee and 10-year base guarantee. If you want a complete, tested pairing rather than sourcing a base and mattress separately, this set is well worth considering.
