Worth Knowing
Upholstered Divan Base
What it is: A divan-style guest bed base built with FSC certified timber and upholstered in your choice of fabric and colour.
How it helps you: The upholstered finish gives the bed a softer, warmer appearance than metal or wood and makes it a more versatile piece for rooms where the bed is visible during the day.
Pull-Out Under Bed with Lift Mechanism
What it is: A full-size second bed stored beneath the main base, which glides out on castors and lifts on sprung-loaded locking legs to the same height as the main bed.
How it helps you: Gives three sleeping options in a single footprint - keep it stored as a single, raise it alongside to create a double-width bed, or push the two beds apart to use as two individual singles.
Included Mattresses
What it is: Two medium tension (3/6) single mattresses, each 20cm deep - one for the main bed and one for the under bed - in a choice of Ionic coil or pocket spring.
How it helps you: Removes the need to source compatible mattresses separately - the bed is ready to sleep on from the day it arrives, with mattresses chosen to store neatly with the under bed.
Ionic Long Life Springs (Ionic Coil Option)
What it is: An open coil spring system unique to Healthbeds, with a firmer section in the middle of the mattress to support the lumbar region.
How it helps you: Gives extra support to the small of the back, while the surrounding springs help cushion the shoulders and relieve tired legs and feet.
Pocket Springs with True Edge Support (Pocket Spring Option)
What it is: Individual springs housed in their own fabric pockets, with a True Edge support system around the perimeter of the mattress.
How it helps you: The springs work independently to shape to the body and avoid roll-together, and the supportive edge means the whole sleeping surface can be used without a roll-off sensation.
Hypoallergenic, Anti Dust Mite Treated Fabric
What it is: The mattress fabric on both options is hypoallergenic and treated with anti dust mite protection.
How it helps you: Helps create a cleaner sleeping environment, which is particularly beneficial for asthma and allergy sufferers.
Luxury Quilted Cover
What it is: A quilted sleeping surface and mattress borders on both mattress options.
How it helps you: Adds soft cushioning and an even, comfortable feel across the sleeping surface.

Vs standard single bed frames: A standard single bed frame gives one sleeping surface and nothing else. A guest bed gives a single bed as its primary function but stores a second sleeping surface underneath, available whenever guests need it. If the room only ever needs to sleep one person, a standard bed frame is simpler, lower in profile, and usually less expensive. If occasional two-person sleeping is needed, a guest bed removes the need for a second bed or a sofa bed entirely.
Vs sofa beds: A sofa bed converts between a sofa and a full sleeping surface, typically opening to a double or larger size. It suits living rooms or rooms where the seating function matters as much as the sleeping function. A guest bed looks like a bed and stays in a bedroom - it does not have a sofa configuration. The trundle provides a second sleeping surface without requiring the room to have a sofa. If you need furniture that acts as a sofa during the day, a sofa bed is the right choice. If you have a spare bedroom and need it to sleep two without having two full beds, a guest bed works well.
Vs other guest beds in the range: The Weekender is the upholstered, mattress-included option - where wooden and metal guest bed frames are usually sold without mattresses, it arrives with two medium tension mattresses, is made in the UK and carries a 5 year warranty. Frame-style guest beds with slatted bases suit those who want to choose their own mattresses, while floor-level trundle models are simpler but do not lift to create a double-width bed.
The Weekender is backed by a 5 year Healthbeds warranty. For a guest bed that is made in the UK, NBF approved and supplied with both mattresses, a 5 year warranty is a strong signal of confidence in long-term build quality.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing.
Two single mattresses are included with the Weekender - one for the main bed and one for the under bed - and you can tailor the set-up at checkout. Choose your mattress type, decide whether to add zip and link, and add the optional Louise headboard to finish the look.
2 x Ionic Coil Mattresses
2 x Pocket Spring Mattresses
Zip and Link
Zip and link is available on each mattress, letting the two mattresses join together when the under bed is raised. The combined surface is the width of a king (small single) or super king (single), but 190cm long rather than the standard 200cm.
Optional Louise Headboard
A simple design with a gentle arc along the top, fixed on struts - 56cm (22'') high, in a width to match the 75cm or 90cm base.
The Weekender turns a single spare bedroom into a space that can sleep two overnight guests - the full-size under bed stores neatly within the base and lifts to main bed height in moments. Upholstered in your choice of fabric, supplied with two medium tension mattresses, made in the UK and backed by a 5 year warranty, it is ready to welcome guests from the day it arrives. Available in small single or single size with free UK delivery included.
