Product Description

The Ashridge Cream Low Foot End is a wooden bed frame from Land of Beds, crafted from oak with a limed finish and inspired by 18th-century French furniture. Hand-carved detailing frames a headboard upholstered in a neutral cream linen, while a wooden sprung slatted base with 4.5cm slat spacing works with the mattress to give a comfortable, supportive feel. Available in Double, King Size and Super King Size, the Ashridge has a low 26cm foot end that keeps the bedroom feeling open, bright and uncluttered.

Who Is This Bed Frame For?

The Ashridge Cream Low Foot End is a limed oak bed frame with hand-carved detailing, a cream linen upholstered headboard and a wooden sprung slatted base, designed for traditional, rustic and French-inspired bedrooms.

Best for

  • Traditional, rustic and French-inspired bedrooms - the limed oak finish and hand-carved detailing bring a timeless, characterful look.
  • Customers who like to sit up in bed - the 120cm upholstered headboard gives comfortable back support for reading or watching television.
  • Couples and single sleepers - the wooden sprung slatted base flexes where you exert the most pressure, giving even support across the bed.
  • Primary and guest bedrooms - the low 26cm foot end keeps the room feeling open and makes bedding easy to dress.

Not ideal for

  • Contemporary or minimalist interiors - the ornate carving and aged finish suit a more traditional style.
  • Customers who need under-bed storage - there is no integrated storage, and the 14cm underbed clearance limits space for storage boxes.

Worth Knowing

  • This bed arrives flat packed in 3 boxes and requires approximately 45 minutes with two people to assemble. Full instructions and all fixings are included.
  • A mattress is not included. Any standard UK mattress is compatible - slat spacing is 4.5cm.

Inside This Bed Frame

Wooden Sprung Slatted Base
What it is: A slatted base made from flexible wooden slats with a natural spring to them, spaced 4.5cm apart.
How it helps you: Works in conjunction with the mattress to provide a comfortable, supportive feel. The natural bounce in the slats adjusts to your body profile where you exert the most pressure.

Limed Oak Frame
What it is: A frame crafted from oak and finished with a limed, aged wood effect for a rustic look.
How it helps you: The soft, weathered finish brings warmth and natural character to the room and works well with neutral and country-style decor.

Hand-Carved Detailing
What it is: Decorative carving on the frame, inspired by 18th-century French furniture.
How it helps you: It gives the bed a crafted, heirloom quality that makes it a genuine centrepiece in a traditional bedroom.

Cream Linen Upholstered Headboard
What it is: A 120cm headboard upholstered in a neutral cream linen fabric, framed by the carved oak surround.
How it helps you: The padded linen gives you a soft, comfortable surface to lean against when sitting up in bed, and its neutral tone complements most bedroom colour schemes.

Low Foot End
What it is: A low 26cm foot end at the base of the frame.
How it helps you: It keeps the room feeling open and uncluttered, and makes it easy to tuck in and dress the bed.

How it Compares

Vs divan beds: Bed frames sit on legs and allow air to circulate beneath the mattress, while divan sets sit close to the floor and are usually paired with a matched mattress. A carved oak frame like this brings far more character to the room, whereas a divan gives a more understated finish and often includes drawer storage.

Vs fabric and metal bed frames: Fully upholstered frames are softer to the touch but need more care to keep clean, and metal frames suit industrial or minimalist rooms. A wooden frame with an upholstered headboard offers the natural warmth and durability of wood with a comfortable place to lean back.

Vs other frames in the range: Many wooden frames have a clean, contemporary profile, while ornate, carved designs like this suit traditional and period-style bedrooms. A low foot end also keeps the room feeling more open than a high foot end or sleigh design.
