The Pentre is a wooden guest bed from Land of Beds, made from hardwood in a warm oak finish, with a Shaker-style slatted headboard and a matching slatted footboard. A trundle stored beneath the main bed rolls out on castors and lifts to the same height on folding legs, giving the choice of a single bed, a double-width bed or two separate singles. The main bed has a wooden slatted base, and both beds take a standard UK single mattress, with a maximum trundle mattress depth of 16cm. Mattresses are not included.
The Land of Beds Pentre is an oak finish hardwood guest bed with a Shaker-style slatted headboard and footboard and a trundle that lifts to main bed height on folding legs, for use as a single, double or twin sleeping configuration, with mattresses sold separately.

Worth Knowing
Hardwood Frame
What it is: A guest bed frame made from hardwood in an oak finish, with a square-edged, Shaker-style headboard of vertical slats and a matching slatted footboard.
How it helps you: Hardwood gives the frame a sturdy, durable structure, and the warm oak finish and clean slatted detailing add a hint of traditional style to a spare bedroom.
Wooden Slatted Base
What it is: A slatted wooden base supporting the mattress on the main bed, with 6cm between slats.
How it helps you: Allows air to circulate beneath the mattress, helping it breathe for a more comfortable sleep.
Pull-Out Trundle with Lift Mechanism
What it is: A second bed stored beneath the main frame on castors, which rolls out and lifts on folding legs to the same height as the main bed.
How it helps you: Gives three sleeping options in a single footprint - keep it stored as a single, raise it alongside to create a double-width bed, or push the two beds apart to use as two individual singles.

Vs standard single bed frames: A standard single bed frame gives one sleeping surface and nothing else. A guest bed gives a single bed as its primary function but stores a second sleeping surface underneath, available whenever guests need it. If the room only ever needs to sleep one person, a standard bed frame is simpler, lower in profile, and usually less expensive. If occasional two-person sleeping is needed, a guest bed removes the need for a second bed or a sofa bed entirely.
Vs sofa beds: A sofa bed converts between a sofa and a full sleeping surface, typically opening to a double or larger size. It suits living rooms or rooms where the seating function matters as much as the sleeping function. A guest bed looks like a bed and stays in a bedroom - it does not have a sofa configuration. The trundle provides a second sleeping surface without requiring the room to have a sofa. If you need furniture that acts as a sofa during the day, a sofa bed is the right choice. If you have a spare bedroom and need it to sleep two without having two full beds, a guest bed works well.
Vs other guest beds in the range: The Pentre is the warm, traditional option - an oak finish hardwood frame with a slatted headboard and matching footboard, sold without mattresses so you can choose your own. Guest beds in white or painted finishes suit lighter, more contemporary rooms, while upholstered divan guest beds usually include mattresses and give a softer look.
The Pentre turns a single spare bedroom into a space that can sleep two overnight guests - the trundle stores neatly beneath the main bed and lifts to the same height in moments. With an oak finish hardwood frame, a Shaker-style slatted headboard and a matching footboard, it brings warmth and a hint of traditional style to any spare room. Mattresses are not included - any standard UK single mattress fits the main bed, and the trundle takes a single up to 16cm deep.
