Worth knowing:
Platform Top Base
What it is: An FSC certified solid wooden top, upholstered in fabric and finished with silver glides. On single divans, drawer placement (left or right) is chosen at the point of order.
How it helps you: The solid platform gives a stable, consistent surface across the entire mattress, helping to prolong the life of the mattress above it. It is covered by the same 10 year guarantee as the mattress.
Storage Options
What it is: Storage configurations available: Non Storage; 2 Full Size Drawers; 4 Full Size Drawers; 2+2 Continental Drawers (not available on Single); Platform Top Ottoman Storage, which uses a gas ram mechanism to lift the base top and reveal a large storage cavity. Drawers are hard-wearing laminate with smooth runners and a 9kg weight limit per standard drawer.
How it helps you: Drawer storage gives easy daily access to spare bedding without lifting the mattress. The Ottoman option suits customers who want maximum storage volume and don't need daily access - as a rule of thumb, a king size ottoman divan base holds around six times more than a 2 drawer divan.
The Included Mattress: Relyon Breeze Essentials
What it is: A medium firm (4/6) pocket sprung hybrid mattress with 1500 individually pocketed springs in a king size, a Cooling Gel Latex comfort layer and a supportive recycled fibre layer. It is finished with a cool touch sleep surface, a 100% natural probiotic fabric treatment, reinforced edge support and 3 rows of side stitching. Depth is 30cm.
How it helps you: The pocket springs give tailored support that keeps your spine aligned and reduce the movement you feel when your partner turns over, while the gel latex eases pressure on shoulders and hips. Cooling Gel Latex and the cool touch surface help draw heat away, and the probiotic treatment protects against allergens, bacteria and odours to keep the mattress fresher for longer. This is a no-turn mattress - rotate head to toe regularly to extend its lifespan.

Vs bed frames: A divan set has a minimal, fully upholstered profile with no exposed legs or joints, and the base gives the mattress solid, even support across its whole surface. The set includes a matched mattress, whereas bed frame buyers purchase their mattress separately. Bed frames offer more design variety but no integrated base support for the mattress.
Vs other divan sets in this price range: This set pairs an FSC certified Platform Top base with a hybrid mattress that brings together pocket springs, Cooling Gel Latex, a cool touch sleep surface and reinforced edges, all made in Great Britain. Dedicated cooling technology and a 10 year guarantee covering both base and mattress give it a stronger specification than many entry-level divan sets, which often rely on basic fibre fillings and shorter guarantees.
Vs premium and luxury divan ranges: This set shares the same upholstered base construction, pocket spring technology and gel latex comfort found in higher-priced divan ranges. The difference is typically in the spring count, the depth of the comfort layers and extras such as Pillow Top or box top layers, rather than any compromise in core support, base quality or build quality.
The Relyon Breeze Essentials Divan Bed is backed by Relyon's 10-year manufacturer's guarantee, covering both the base and the mattress against defects in materials and workmanship. With a solid Platform Top base, a pocket spring mattress, reinforced edges and 3 rows of side stitching, this is a set built to last, and the guarantee reflects that.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing.
Manufacturing Guild Mark Holder - Relyon was the first bed manufacturer to be awarded this prestigious mark by the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, recognising a genuine commitment to quality, craftsmanship and durability.
The Relyon Breeze Essentials Divan Bed brings together medium firm pocket spring support, cooling comfort and reinforced edges in a fully matched set, made in Great Britain and backed by a 10-year guarantee covering base and mattress. If you sleep on your back or front, change position through the night or tend to sleep hot, and want a hassle-free, ready-to-sleep-on set with built-in storage, this is the one to consider.
