Worth knowing:
Platform Top Base
What it is: A solid platform base with a firm wooden surface upholstered in fabric. Available in a range of standard and premium fabric options. The base arrives in two sections for all sizes above a single and requires approximately 30 minutes to assemble with two people.
How it helps you: The platform top provides a consistent, stable surface beneath the mattress across its full width. This keeps the mattress supported evenly and helps maintain its shape and performance over time. It is also the foundation for all storage configurations in this range.
Storage Options
What it is: Six storage configurations are available: non storage; 2 full size drawers; 4 full size drawers; 2+2 continental drawers; half ottoman storage; half ottoman with 2 drawers; full ottoman storage.
How it helps you: Standard drawers provide easy daily access to spare bedding without lifting the mattress. Continental drawers offer a lower-profile option for storing lighter items. The half ottoman and full ottoman options open via a gas ram mechanism, giving you access to larger volumes of storage beneath the base - ideal for bulkier items you do not need to access daily. Allow clear floor space on the drawer side when ordering a drawer model. Weight limits vary by storage type - see the specification table.
The Included Mattress: Silentnight Eleanor Comfort
What it is: A medium firm (4/6) pocket spring mattress built around Silentnight's Mirapocket spring system (1,000 springs) and filled with Comfort Breathe Fibre - a lightweight, breathable filling made from recycled content. The mattress has a quilted cover with machine stitched quilted sides. Depth is 24cm. The mattress is single-sided - do not flip.
How it helps you: The Mirapocket springs work independently, spreading weight evenly and reducing the chance of disturbing your partner when you move. The zoned support helps keep your spine properly aligned, making this mattress well suited to back sleepers, front sleepers, and combination sleepers who change position through the night. The Comfort Breathe Fibre filling aids airflow for a cooler night, and because it is made from recycled content it is a more eco-conscious choice. The quilted cover is hypoallergenic, which is useful if you are sensitive to allergens.

Vs bed frames: A divan set sits lower to the floor than most bed frames and has a more minimal profile. The base is fully upholstered with no exposed legs or visible joints. Crucially, this set includes the mattress - bed frame buyers purchase their mattress separately. Bed frames offer more visual variety and exposed leg designs, but the Eleanor Comfort divan gives you a matched, tested pairing out of the box with integrated storage options that most bed frames cannot match.
Vs other Silentnight divan sets in the range: The Eleanor Comfort sits alongside the Alexandra Comfort in the Silentnight divan collection, with the key difference being tension. The Eleanor Comfort is medium firm (4/6) where the Alexandra Comfort is firm (5/6), making it a better fit for combination sleepers and those who want support without going to the firmest end of the range. Both use the Mirapocket spring system and Comfort Breathe Fibre filling; the Eleanor Comfort has 1,000 springs and a 24cm depth compared to the Alexandra Comfort's 1,200 springs at 26cm.
Vs premium ranges: The Eleanor Comfort shares Silentnight's Mirapocket spring technology with higher-end models in the Silentnight range. Where it differs is in the depth of the comfort layer and the filling specification - premium models typically include additional fibre or foam layers. The Eleanor Comfort keeps things clean and practical: medium firm support, breathable filling, and a no-flip maintenance routine, without the cost associated with deeper, more heavily filled mattresses.
The Eleanor Comfort divan set is backed by Silentnight's 5-year manufacturer's guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship, covering both the base and the mattress. Built in the UK with a no-flip pocket spring mattress at its core, this is a practical, well-constructed set backed by a guarantee that reflects straightforward everyday quality.
National Bed Federation (NBF) Approved - Independently verified to meet strict UK standards for quality, safety and responsible manufacturing. Every Silentnight product carrying this mark has been tested and approved by the industry's own regulatory body.
Made in Britain - Independently certified confirmation that this divan set is manufactured in the UK.
FSC Certified Timber - The timber used in the base construction is sourced from forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, meaning it is responsibly managed and traceable to sustainable sources.
Certified B Corporation - Silentnight has achieved B Corp certification, meaning the business has been independently assessed against rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. It is one of the more meaningful third-party endorsements a manufacturer can hold.
Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Member - Silentnight is a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative, a leading alliance of companies, trade unions and NGOs working to improve the lives of workers in global supply chains.
The Eleanor Comfort divan set delivers medium firm, zoned pocket spring support, a breathable eco fibre filling, and a practical platform top base with flexible storage - all made in Britain and backed by a 5-year guarantee. If you are a back, front, or combination sleeper, share a bed, or simply want a supportive low-maintenance divan that works night after night, this is a well-specified, sensible choice.
