The Tempur Thermoregulating Mattress Protector is a 2-in-1 waterproof mattress protector and fitted sheet with a soft Tencel™ surface and built-in temperature-regulating technology. THERMIC® microcapsules integrated into the Tencel™ fabric help keep skin between 28°C and 30°C through the night, while an ultra-thin, breathable PERLAM® membrane underneath stops spills and sweat from reaching the mattress. The result is a cool, breathable and fully waterproof protector that keeps your mattress clean, dry and fresh, can be slept on directly as a fitted sheet or used beneath your own bedding, and is backed by a 3-year guarantee.
The Tempur Thermoregulating Mattress Protector is a fully waterproof, temperature-regulating 2-in-1 mattress protector and fitted sheet made with a Tencel™ surface, THERMIC® microcapsules and a breathable PERLAM® membrane.
A Tencelâ„¢ waterproof mattress protector best suited to hot sleepers and those with a new or expensive mattress who want complete protection against spills and sweat and a cooler, more comfortable night's sleep.
Protection Level - Waterproof: The PERLAM® membrane stops liquid passing through to the mattress, so spills and sweat stay on the protector rather than soaking into your mattress.
Best for
Not ideal for
Tencelâ„¢ Surface
What it is: A soft surface fabric made from 100% lyocell, a branded fibre produced from sustainably sourced wood. Tencelâ„¢ is more absorbent than cotton, naturally hypoallergenic and cool to the touch.
How it helps you sleep: Draws moisture away from your skin and stays cool and fresh against the body, so the sleep surface feels comfortable whether you lie directly on the protector or use it beneath a separate sheet.
THERMIC® Microcapsules
What it is: Tiny phase-change microcapsules built into the Tencelâ„¢ fabric that absorb heat when your body runs warm and release it again as you cool down.
How it helps you sleep: Helps keep your skin between 28°C and 30°C through the night, smoothing out the too-hot, too-cold swings that can disturb your sleep, whatever the season.
PERLAM® Membrane
What it is: An ultra-thin, breathable polyurethane membrane laminated to the underside of the protector. It is fully waterproof, yet still allows air to pass through.
How it helps you sleep: Stops spills and sweat from reaching your mattress and acts as a barrier against dust mites, keeping your mattress clean, dry and in great condition for longer, without the warm, plastic feel associated with older waterproof designs.
Elasticated Fitted Skirt
What it is: A stretch, fitted sheet style design with an elasticated skirt that fits mattresses up to 32cm deep.
How it helps you sleep: Pulls on easily and stays in place through the night. Because the protector is so thin, it can be used on its own as a fitted sheet or beneath your existing bedding.

Vs a non-waterproof mattress protector: A non-waterproof protector guards against everyday dust and wear but lets spills and sweat soak through to the mattress beneath. Traditional waterproof designs can feel warmer and less breathable, which is why some sleepers avoid them, but this protector pairs a breathable PERLAM® membrane with a cool Tencel™ surface, so you get full liquid protection without trapping heat. If protecting your mattress from moisture matters to you, explore our full range of mattress protectors to compare protection types.
Vs a quilted mattress protector: A quilted protector adds a thin layer of padding, which some sleepers like for a little extra softness on a firmer mattress. This protector is ultra-thin and adds no extra padding, so the comfort you feel comes from your mattress itself, and it can double as a fitted sheet. If you want added cushioning as well as protection, a mattress topper is the better choice.
Vs an entry-level waterproof protector: Entry-level waterproof protectors offer reliable spill protection at a lower price, usually with a standard synthetic or cotton-blend surface. This premium option adds a moisture-wicking Tencel™ surface, THERMIC® microcapsules that actively regulate temperature, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified materials and a 3-year guarantee. For hot sleepers or anyone protecting a premium mattress, the extra investment buys active temperature control rather than protection alone.
The Tempur Thermoregulating Mattress Protector has received the following awards and accreditations:
The Tempur Thermoregulating Mattress Protector combines fully waterproof protection with active temperature regulation, keeping your mattress clean and dry while helping you sleep cool. If you're a hot sleeper or looking to protect a new or expensive mattress, this is the one to consider.
